Play it again, Sam
The Tobacco Valley Board of History had their annual fall rummage sale recently. And yesterday evening there was a fundraiser for the Historical Village at HA) Brewery. Now the first quilt of the season has been put on a frame. The women are quilting every Friday again now that fall has settled in and the first snow has appeared on the mountains.
Lynda wants the word to get out that we are in need of quilts to sew. We are working on a beautiful one now, have another in the cupboard to be quilted later but after that the cupboard is bare. If you have a quilt top and are looking for some lovely, painstaking by hand quilting to be done on it – let us know. Our prices are extremely reasonable and there is so much wonderful energy added to your quilt by the women sitting around the frame sewing on it. Not only will you get a hand quilted heirloom, but you will help maintain the Historical Village.
Every now and again someone asks if they can order a quilt, that is not bring us a top already pieced but order a quilt in certain colors or a style to match a particular room or individual. Yes, we can do custom quilts as well. We actually have a couple for sale that we made last year. But really what we most want now are quilts to sew as we like looking forward to the winter season with a cupboard full of quilts waiting to be finished.
